Maxine

Admin Manager (she/her)

My name is Maxine and I am so excited to be returning to Unicamp after so many years. I first came to Unicamp as a camper when I was 6 years old and then returned as a Counselor a few years later. I went off to school to complete a degree in Child Development and also pursue my dream of playing volleyball. I have been so fortunate to have played varsity for Humber College and Seneca College and winning many prestigious titles. I later represented Canada in many international events in both beach and indoor volleyball. Now that I’ve reached my peak, I’ve slowed down and continue to travel, hoping to one day try van life.

Kaitlyn

Assistant Director (she/they)

Kaitlyn and her adorable and hilarious service dog, Nectarine, love spending the Spring, Summer, and Fall at Unicamp, where they feel at home. Kaitlyn absolutely loves Unicamp’s Nature and community.

She holds a Bachelor of Community Development with Environmental Studies from Acadia University and is pursuing an MA of International Studies at Simon Fraser University. She has excelled in leadership, research, community engagement, and advocacy roles with the UN and universities.

Kaitlyn’s degrees and positions support her ability to excel at Unicamp. “I believe in Fairies! I do! I do! I do!” – Kaitlyn

Joanna

Camp Director (she/her)

Joanna has been attending camp since 2009 when she started as a camp counselor. She has enjoyed many summers at camp since then in various staff roles and as a family camper. This is her 3rd summer in the Camp Director role.

Joanna’s family is very involved at Unicamp and it has become a 2nd home to all of them. Joanna’s partner (Luc) and their 5 kids have made many amazing connections in the Unicamp community and look forward to creating more memories.

Joanna’s background in Child & Youth Work is what drives her to making it better every year for our young staff and campers.

See you all at the beach, or at the dining hall for coffee!

Eli

Program Director (he/him)

My name is Eli McComb and I’m delighted to be Program Director this year! I’m a long time Unicamper who has worn several different hats over the 23 years I’ve been coming to camp. My family and I are delighted to spend for the opportunity to spend some time with you this summer.

Luc

Property Manager (he/him)

Luc was convinced by Joanna in 2014 to come up for a work weekend because she thought he “might find something to do.” He’s still here! (haha). He enjoys keeping busy at Unicamp, loves the community, and is happy to be there with his partner and 5 kids.

Vera

Bookkeeper

I have enjoyed working for Unicamp as a bookkeeper for the last 12 years and have witnessed many changes over the course of those years as we evolve and improve. Some of those earlier years entailed driving to Unicamp or Toronto to work in office and more recently working from home.

Although I don’t often have the opportunity to communicate with unicampers in person I feel like I know many through our email connections. I look forward to my annual visits to participate in the Sacred Circle Dance weekend, which also gives me the opportunity to personally meet the staff and totally de-stress in this amazing spiritual environment.

I am always blown away by the magic of our beautiful natural habitat and how invested everyone is in maintaining and improving our camp and programs for current and future generations.

Hauwa

Head Cook (she/her)

Hauwa is looking forward to spending another summer wearing her chef hat at Unicamp! She has been attending since she was a kids camper & has spent many summers since cooking food & making memories!

She’s looking forward to star gazing, Unicamp dances and catching up by the campfire 🙂

Raven

Senior Assistant Property Manager (they/she)

Hi! I’m Raven and I’m very excited to be returning to unicamp for my 6th summer on staff and my 19th season overall! Coming back to camp is like coming home and I’m extremely ready to be immersed in the colour green and in the wonderful Unicamp community 💚
