Unicamp has three fundraising campaigns in 2025:

– Campership Funds
– Operating Fund
See information below on all three of our fundraising campaigns.
2025 Capital Campaign
Donations Matched up to $5000!
* Justice, equity, and compassion in human relations *
A generous private donor will match donations up to $5000!
Unicamp is calling for donations and volunteers to help us make vital improvements in safety and accessibility to our property and buildings. Unicamp of Ontario Incorporated is a registered charitable organization (registration number 119275535 RR0001) and donations over $20 receive a tax receipt!
The priority capital projects are to repair and replace, where needed, the steps, ramps, decks and railings for the dorms, cottages and Program Centre. Some buildings require improvements to the foundations, eavestroughs, doors, soffits and fascia. These repairs are necessary and long overdue.
We will also prioritize the construction of wheelchair accessible pathways so that people with mobility challenges can more safely get around and access the main areas of camp. This includes:
- Levelling the ground around the main fire pit;
- Constructing wheelchair accessible paths around the dining hall, between Dave’s cottage and the Program/Spiritual Centre, and all the way to the outdoor Sunday Service area in front of Rosie’s cottage;
- Improvements to the beaches to make them more accessible.
These are large, expensive projects. Unicamp is also applying for a capital grant to help us achieve these goals. If donations and the potential grant are able to fully fund these projects, then additional funds raised would be directed toward other capital improvements, including replacing mattresses and privacy curtains in dorms and cottages, and acquiring and anchoring a Storm Shelter that meets and exceeds international safety requirements.
We are proud of our recent improvements, including wheelchair accessible ramps at the Dining Hall (pictured below left) and renovations to Dave’s cottage including a barrier-free washroom, and a barrier-reduced washroom (pictured lower right). There are still many improvements required to ensure as many people as possible can continue to enjoy camp.

Campership Funds
* The Inherent Worth and Dignity of Every Person *
We strive to uphold our community values and UU principles in all aspects of Unicamp. In past years, we have offered Campership subsidy funds to help improve access to our programs and natural space, but this year funds are critically low and we need your support to keep these funds open!
Kids Campership:
Funds to support children and youth who are attending our programming, for up to 50% of the cost.
Adult Campership:
This general fund can help cover up to 25% of the cost of accommodations, meals, and programming.
BIPOC Campership:
This fund can be applied in addition to our other campership subsidies. We do not assume that racialized community members lack access to financial wealth, instead Unicamp acknowledges the ongoing systemic oppression disproportionately impacting Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour and makes this fund available as an act of solidarity.
Support the Camperships:
These funds are only made possible through the generous support of community members like you! In order to ensure ongoing access to each of our funds in the 2025 season, we need your contributions. Please consider making a donation. Thank you for your generosity!

Unicamp’s Operating Fund
* The goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all *
Unicamp of Ontario is a campground based on Unitarian Universalism that serves all regardless of faith. Its intergenerational community in an outdoor environment allows for personal and spiritual growth. Our campers, participants, and visitors have access to a wide range of programming that is engaging, creative, and uplifting. We recognize the worth of an inclusive space in the lives of children and youth and their families.
At the heart of Unicamp’s activities are our children’s camp and youth leadership programming, taking place in July, and our family camps, taking place in August. During children’s and youth programs, we use the latest advice from the Ontario Camps Association and our local health unit, as well as resources through our large camp professional network, to run activities that safely allow the participants to build their confidence, resilience, and character. Unicamp is a place of opportunities for fun, immersion in nature, community connections, and inclusive programming for all ages.
Overall, Unicamp seeks to nurture life and leadership skills by offering programs and opportunities to children, youth, and adults. Our staff members are key to building the radically-inclusive community that Unicamp has been known for since 1969. Every staff member is appreciated for the part they play in building our incredible community!
All donations from the Operating Fund campaign will be used towards the day to day operations of Unicamp and to support our children’s and youth camp programs.
